John Guedel; a well-known television producer, introduces the pilot. Jack Douglas worked as an early producer and host of travel and adventure films. This episode tours notable 1960’s Hollywood hotspots including Grauman's Chinese Theater, Corriganville Movie Ranch, Marineland of the Pacific, Forest Lawn Memorial Park and the Academy of Magical Arts. It also includes a tour of the famed Wax Museum; Movieland, now closed since 2005. Guedel (:10) explains Jack as a pioneer of the open studio concept of television. Guedel introduces former works of Douglas including 'I Search for Adventure;' the first syndicated adventure show off its kind (:32). Recent productions of Jack's include 'Seven League Boots' (:50). Jack explains the title and goals for ‘America!’ (2:40). Introduction and opening credits follow (3:48). Jack appears in front of the Roaring Twenties restaurant (4:13). Tom McCue; the film’s producer and director, and Jack hop into a helicopter in Hughes field (4:49). The pair fly over downtown LA (5:10) spotting the Hansen Sports Arena (5:14) and the LA Coliseum (5:18). Blue pools accommodate each home (5:45). 'Prayers pass'; passes under; a dangerous web of highway (5:59). The western theme park, Corriganville (6:26) was dreamed up by stuntman Crash Corrigan (6:34). Stuntmen stage a brawl on the edge of a cliff (6:54). Gun men duel near the OK Corral (7:24). Movieland (8:07) preserved a waxy history of Hollywood's Golden Era. Jack shows off wax figures of Gable and Lee from ‘Gone with the Wind’ (8:28), Catherine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart (8:32), Bridget Bardot (8:55) and Boris Karloff (9:04). Special attention is delivered for the Wax of Rudolph Valentino (9:32). A statue commemorating his life (9:41) was erected in the Hollywood’s Forever Cemetery (9:45). Marble angels spew water within Forest Lawn Memorial Park Pond (10:44). A statue of George Washington (11:10) and a massive mosaic of the signing of the declaration of Independence are displayed (11:19). Angel’s flight railway runs through downtown LA (11:51). Shots from aboard the rail car follow (11:55). Surfers (12:40) slip over Pacific waves. Athletes work out on Muscle Beach in Santa Monica (12:53). Attractions of Marineland of the Pacific (13:07) include the Fish Bowl (13:43), Sea Arena (14:10), jumping porpoises (14:27) and the Whale Arena (16:01). A guest is dazzled by the trick piano at the Academy of Magical Arts (18:19). The Great Blackstone entertains (18:57) in the bar lounge. A magician performs the rope and ring trick (19:40). Ginza (20:33) flashes in neon (20:38). The Troubadour gets a tour (21:22). A ‘Hoot’ sign notes it's Monday, Hoot night (21:39). A flamenco guitarist (21:49) and Israeli singer (22:33) perform.  Patrons enjoy the shooting gallery at the Roaring Twenties Nightclub (24:48). Show girls twirl on the bar (27:12). Jack details scenes which could not be shown on the pilot (28:07). The film is a Jack Douglas presentation (28:42) in association with CBS films (28:46). Future episodes explore Cape Cod (29:23) including Storyland (29:46), the Figurehead House (30:02), and Poor Richard’s (30:07). Cowboys run amok in Puyallup, Washington at the 60th Western Washington fair (30:52). Stunt clowns in dusty makeup flip (32:09). Arlene Dahl is featured (32:23) "An American Beauty" as a judge of the International Beauty Pageant. Another episode features (32:50) a tour of Concord, Massachusetts (32:57) including the Minuteman Statue (33:17). Notable writers include Ralph Waldo Emerson (33:24), Louisa May Alkin (34:01), and Nathaniel Hawthorne (34:09). The cool waters of Walden Pond (34:19); were immortalized by Thoreau.  A traveler sets a stone near Thoreau’s cabin (34:38).  Florenz Ziegfeld (35:30) brought the show girl to the limelight in 1907. Ziegfeld Girls were actresses, singers, and show girls appearing as the Ziegfeld Follies on Broadway. Betty straightens long black gloves (35:37) for a show in Vegas (35:45). Her life is traced in 'Diary of a Showgirl' (36:03). She photographs for a men's magazine (36:47). Blue eyed Betty readies herself (37:04). Around 2am, she takes a date (37:28). The ‘Jasmine Jungle’ features the Florida Everglades (38:09). Fires lick at the jasmine jungle (38:31). A final advertisement for the series (39:32).
