A USO welcome home show is performed by Hollywood stars for U.S. Navy servicemen and shipyard workers. It features stars such as Danny Kaye, Dale Evans, Dick Powell and Yvonne de Carlo. It opens with images of a naval vessel getting patch work done (:34). The shipyard employees get word of a carrier arriving from the Pacific front (:38). Dick Powell and Dale Evans are seen (:52). Dick Powell was a tenor singer who also hosted the ‘Dick Powell Show’ airing on NBC from 1961 to 1963. Dale Evans was the third wife of Roy Rogers. The pair starred in feature films and television series such as ‘The Roy Rogers Show’. The servicemen enjoy a welcome home show (1:19). Dick Powell begins singing (1:47). The Canadian actress; Yvonne De Carlo performs a number in a slinky black outfit (2:55). Yvonne was known for her role as Lily Munster on ‘The Munsters’. ‘The Munsters’ ran for two seasons in 1964. Dale Evans (3:50) and Danny Kaye also deliver songs for the troops (4:19). Danny Kaye stared in films such as the 'Secret Life of Walter Minny’ released in 1947.
