It opens with an Air France Boeing B707 taxing (:53-1:15). Two men get out of a 1957 Chevy Station Wagon at the hotel (1:16-1:20), where they enjoy a whiskey on the terrace (1:49-2:07). A river moves through gnarled trees before a long canoe of African rowers appears. Crocodiles slide into the water and an elephant is seen (2:09-3:40). An Air France 727 flight takes them to meet their safari guide. They leave in a British Jeep and a Dodge truck (3:41-4:39). Tribal members wear lower lip plates; one smokes a pipe (4:44-4:55). A woman retrieves a bucket of water from a deep well (4:55-5:04). An open market is shown (5:05-5:40), where a woman has a plate in her top and bottom lips (5:41). The safari trucks drive past tall ant hills as they cross the savannah (6:05-6:25). They drive onto a ferry, which is hand-pulled across the river (6:26-6:56). They arrive at a traveler’s shelter for the night. A man is shown getting out of bed by emerging from under mosquito netting (7:10-7:30). A worker prepares the bread for the day in a pan he drops into an indentation in the ground, puts a lid over it, and dumps live coals on top to bake it (7:31-7:55). The hunters check their double-barrel 13mm sporting rifle and repeating carbine (7:58-8:20). They discover antelope tracks and move through the tall weeds where they leave alone a herd of giraffes shown eating leaves (8:21-9:29). They find the antelopes and kill one (9:30-10:42). They return to the truck for a drink of water (10:43-10:58). Antelope bound through the weeds ahead of a brush fire (10:59-11:31). A refrigerator, tables, and chairs are loaded back into the Dodge and they move further into the bush. They pass on a group of gazelles (11:32-12:30). The hunter kills an African buffalo (12:31-13:08). The truck passes a group of guinea fowl (13:09-13:28) and rhinos, which are forbidden to hunt (13:29-13:50). The laundry is washed in the river at the overnight camp. A hunter takes an outdoor shower and shaves while his clothes are ironed with a hot sad iron (14:00-14:30). The guide finds hair from a lion’s mane in the grass. A lion with his mate yawn and get up from the grass but are left alone (14:31-15:19). The men have drinks back at camp (15:20-15:47). They find a group of elephants with long tusks who often stare directly at the camera. The family is shown, including babies, and again are not shot except with a camera (15:50-16:30). A local man asks them to kill a leopard, which they do. The village celebrates and dance by shaking the leopard now stretched out on a pole. Drummers and dancers are shown, including jiggling male and female body parts (16:31-18:22). They return to their first stop (18:23-18:50). The Air France plane takes off (18:51).
