Yes, everything . . . brilliant pictures, superb sound, simple operation, smooth, safe film handling, instant performance, good looks, light weight, ruggedness — even an automatic threader that never touches the film ! (And if you Ve never wanted an automatic threader the 1600 provides for that as well, because its uniquely safe threader is uniquely optional, too.) The fact is the 1600 is a totally new projector that's loaded with innovations (like the “Safe-Threader”) which make film showing easier and more pleasurable than ever before. It can be effectively used for large audiences, economically used for small ones. Availability of optional accessories enables you to equip the 1600 to meet any viewing need. In addition it is easy and inexpensive to maintain, never requires oiling. The complete projector? Try one soon and see the difference. 1600 design gives you a choice of manual or automatic threading in every model. The “Safe-Threader” is an optional accessory that can be purchased as original equipment or easily installed at a later time by your RCA Audio-Visual Distributor. Automatic threading for the 1600 is the safest yet. RCA “Safe-Threader” whisks the film leader through the film path automatically, and then is disengaged so that it never touches the film. Using the “Safe-Threader” gives you the same control over the film as in a manually threaded machine. It’s the only automatic threader that permits you to unthread and re- thread the film in seconds. One of the nicest things about the 1600 is running it: You cant miss doing a good job, and the job you do is so good you can’t help feeling a sense of accomplishment. Take set-up as an example. Reel' arms you can position and lock with one hand, ultra simple threading, a precise, easy handling focus control and reverse with automatic sound cut off enable you to get your show going with the speed and ease of a professional. Another professional feature is instant, fully stabilized sound at the flick of a switch. Rewind is also quick and smooth, and the 1600 even cuts down on the time needed to change a lamp through use of a new pop-up bulb. All of these features make the 1600 a projector that is wonderfully simple to operate. We predict your staff will show its appreciation for this quality by showing more films than ever before. The 1600 provides optimum brightness for every screening situation . The wide barrel lens mount will accommodate a variety of lenses including an F 11.4 and cinemascope type for auditorium shows. You can use a 750,, 1000 or 1200 watt lamp. For maximum light on the screen a two bladed shutter is available. Excellent sound quality is obtained through the 1600’ s optical sound system (a solar cell and exciter lamp), a 12 watt completely solid state amplifier, and a super sensitive 4”x8" speaker that is mounted right in the projector. The amplifier is exceptionally rugged and includes separate tone and volume controls. The case makes a perfect baffle for the speaker. This is the outstanding sound system in 16mm film, and you can even use it as a FA system through the addition of a microphone for which a jack has been supplied. Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed. For almost two decades, we've worked to collect, scan and preserve the world as it was captured on 35mm, 16mm and 8mm movies -- including home movies, industrial films, and other non-fiction. If you have endangered films you'd like to have scanned, or wish to donate celluloid to Periscope Film so that we can share them with the world, we'd love to hear from you. Contact us via the weblink below. This film is part of the Periscope Film LLC archive, one of the largest historic military, transportation, and aviation stock footage collections in the USA. Entirely film backed, this material is available for licensing in 24p HD, 2k and 4k.
