It is a 1930’s travelogue of the French Riviera. Views of the Ligurian Sea and the French Riviera (0:30-0:44). French call it the Cote d’Azur, or blue coast, the southern coast of France (0:45-1:00). Sailing ship, or yacht, in the Riviera harbor (1:01-1:06). Beautiful beaches with many bathers playing on them (1:07-1:15). Palm trees line the streets (1:16-1:21). The Island of Saint Marguerite, or Ile Sainte-Marguerite, a mile off shore from Cannes. Famous for the 17th century prison that held the Man in the Iron Mask (1:22-1:39). Paddle boats in the bay (1:44-1:50). View of a coastline park (1:51-2:02). A boat in the water (2:04-2:07). The rocky shoreline (2:08-2:13). Fishermen fixing their nets (2:14-2:22). Nice, France, capital of the Alpes-Maritimes Department, or southeast corner of France, located on the Bay of the Angels (2:23-2:38). People walking the promenades of Nice (2:39-3:08). The Yacht float lazily in the harbor at Nice (3:09-3:30). Beautiful views of the mountainous shoreline (3:31-4:04). A 1930’s car driving down the La Petite Road (4:05-4:17). Principality of Monaco, or Monaco, a city-state, or microstate, on the French Riviera (4:18-4:42). Monaco’s casino, the Monte Carlo, is approached by a beautiful esplanade and many patrons are walking there (4:43-5:27). Views of the French Alp mountains across the bay (5:28-6:12). A man sits in an open café and looks over the bay (6:13-6:27). The Riviera’s rugged coastline, with Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat in the background (6:28-6:48). A village sitting on a mountain peak (7:10-7:13). A view of Cap-Ferrat from another angle (7:18-7:46). A panorama of Nice, France (7:48-8:04). Nice Carnival, established in 1294, with floats of huge and unusual figures and marchers with papier-mache heads (8:07-10:15).
