        <description>Ed Asner hosts this 1975 color Army recruiting film, The Army Reports #51, to encourage not letting a lack of education prevent a life-time career with the Army. All of the different education opportunities are then detailed verbally by Ed with interspersed video showing the scenarios.  A boy goes from a high school classroom to working on a car as a mechanic to older sadly laying on a bed. His happy friend is dressed in full uniform.  (2:37-3:49). He is next shown waiting with a large group to be interviewed for a job. His turn arrives and the interviewer sees him as a blanked out face (4:17-4:55). A professional counselor talks with a recruit in an office full of books. A teacher is helping recruits pass their GEDs. Vocational training in cars and woodworking is shown. A soldier walks down  college steps with books, another uses a library, soldiers wear headphones as they learn a language (6:34-7:30). Ted Knight joins Ed and they discuss military educational opportunities (7:39-9:29).  The Army operates Education Centers and shown is Fort Bragg, North Carolina 2-1127. Two women soldiers in skirts walk down the sidewalk and up the stairs. The librarian helps a soldier find a manual; he then joins other soldiers studying at a large library table (9:30-10:30). Classes are also given. An instructor demonstrates welding. Soldiers practice typing on a typewriter (10:44-11:25). A guidance counsellor is seen providing information to a soldier in an office full of books (11:26-12:28). There are also Individual Learning Centers. A soldier puts on headphones and pushes a tape recorder button. Another watches a Volkswagen repair video  (12:53-13:32). A team of soldiers watch a video together. Another sits down at a desk with a video playing device  (14:00-14:42).  The Main Office of an Army Education Center is shown. A soldier is being interviewed by a female military education counselor (14:43-15:50). Ed wraps it up by emphasizing promotions require advanced education and the benefits of getting a good education for free through the Army programs.
