<description>This color film contains raw footage from the Apollo 12 mission in November 1969. Apollo 12 was the sixth crewed flight in the United States Apollo program and the second to land on the Moon. It was launched on November 14, 1969, from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, U.S.A. Its objective was to perform detailed scientific lunar exploration. The astronauts onboard were Charles "Pete" Conrad, Richard F. Gordon, and Alan L. Bean. The Command and Service Module for the mission was given the call sign Yankee Clipper, while the LM had the call sign Intrepid, both nods to the fact that the crew was from the U.S. Navy. Opening: Sun light beams during a solar eclipse as the earth eclipse's the sun (:08). Apollo 12 Lunar Module Intrepid floats above the moon (:31). Moon as seen from the LM as the module gets closer and closer to the surface (1:11). Intrepid floats over the moon (2:01). The module lands on the moon, November 19, 1969, near the Surveyor crater (3:10). Astronaut Charles "Pete" Conrad walks down a ladder on the outside of the craft and onto the moon (3:41). Astronaut Conrad walks around on the surface of the moon (4:10). Astronaut Conrad walks around the moon collecting samples of lunar rock (4:40). Astronaut Conrad collects more samples of lunar soil before walking back towards the module (6:00). Lunar landscape; American flag planted on the moon (7:25). Surface of the moon as LM pulls away (8:20). Inside the Apollo CSM with Conrad and Bean visible (8:39). Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed.
