Men aboard a sailboat on rough seas, 2:06. Man in crow’s nest with telescope, 2:15. Iceberg is seen, 2:30. Different icebergs are seen, 3:04. Man tests for depth on a boat, 2:35. Barrels are unloaded from a ship onto a smaller ship, 4:05. Barrels are rolled ashore, 4:35. Rocks are loaded on ship for ballast, 5:00. Fresh water is loaded aboard, 5:29. Gas and oil is mixed for fuel and loaded into engine, 5:45. Aerial view of Labrador, 6:25. Cod fish on deck, drying, 7:10. Commander MacMillan at The White House, 1925 Donald Baxter MacMillan (November 10, 1874 – September 7, 1970) was an American explorer, sailor, researcher and lecturer who made over 30 expeditions to the Arctic during his 46-year career. He pioneered the use of radios, airplanes, and electricity in the Arctic, brought back films and thousands of photographs of Arctic scenes, and put together a dictionary of the Inuktitut language.
