It was produced as a Movietone General Telecasting Production in The Greatest Drama series and announced by radio actor Raymond Edward Johnson. The dedication ceremony for the statue of Patton is shown at West Point as cadets stand at attention. Cadets march on the West Point grounds (:30-1:28). 1915, Patton participates in the large horseback chase of Pancho Villa across the Mexico border (1:29-1:37). Brief footage is shown of early tanks moving through dirt in WWI, followed by additional tank footage. Footage is shown of German tanks and US tank corps.  (1:38-1:56). Destroyers move towards the invasion of North Africa. Footage is shown of troops landing at night in boats at Casablanca. Patton is shown briefly monitoring planes overhead as tanks roll across the desert and fire at the enemy (1:57-4:04). Patton participated in the invasion of Sicily and watches as troops wade through the surf to reach land. Patton joins his troops and encourages them as they pass in tanks and vehicles (4:05-4:59). An ambulance pulls into an American Field Hospital. Newspaper headlines tell of Patton slapping a soldier there. Patton shakes Eisenhower’s hand, who comes to investigate. Patton apologizes to his seated troops for the incident (5:00-5:57). Big Ben is shown in London. Troops practice hand-to-hand combat with fists and guns. D-Day footage shows soldiers wading through the water towards shore. Tanks pass French city signs. A tank passes, heavily camouflaged. Grateful French women kiss soldiers as they walk past (5:58-7:15). Military vehicles cross a makeshift bridge. Metz smokes under heavy artillery firing (7:16-7:59). Soldiers run past a heavily camouflaged tank. Fighting is shown as Bastogne. Patton and his tanks move through heavy snow. Patton salutes to the camera (8:00-9:12). 1945, troops move through German cities (9:13-9:36). A man does a silly street dance celebrating victory. A man holds up a newspaper proclaiming peace on Victory in Europe Day (9:13-9:43). Patton arrives back in the U.S. and is greeted by his wife. A view of the White House in 1945 is shown. Patton, in full dress uniform, shakes President Truman’s hand as they walk through the rose garden (9:44-10:10). Patton stands in a jeep as it passes crowds lining both sides of the street. Patton speaks to the crowd. A large banner shows the City of Los Angeles Founded 1781 crest (10:11-11:01). Troops practice maneuvers, including walking in a V-shape, protecting two tanks (11:02-11:25). The newspaper headline proclaims “Patton Dies” after a car accident on his way to pheasant hunting trip.  Patton is buried at the Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial; his grave marker is shown (11:26-11:48). Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed.
