The center was also named after the couple. The pair hosted Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip to dedicate the facility. Joining them was a large group of A-list Hollywood talent who were strong supporters of the City of Hope, including Ernest Borgnine, June Lockhart (2:50), former "City of Hope Woman of the Year" Zsa Zsa Gabor (5:43), Karl Malden, and others. The Queen's arrival is anticipated by a large crowd seen at (7:33), followed by shots of the City of Hope National Medical Center exterior. At (8:30), a sign welcomes Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The motorcade is seen arriving at (9:00). At (9:44) Presidential Aide Michael Deaver is mentioned by the host, as well as philanthropists Norman and Sadie Lee. The Queen is shown at (10:19) and following. According to a news report from the day, she took time to greet patients at the facility. Some of them are shown at (12:19) displaying a welcome sign.
