At (1:56) the streamlined Burlington Zephyr locomotive and passenger train streak past camera followed by a steam locomotive and at (2:24) what appears to be a Union Pacific streamliner, possibly M-10000 or M-10001 and at (2:51) another streamliner possibly M-10005 or M-100006. At (3:18) a steam train moves across a railroad bridge. At (3:34) is footage of small boats and private watercraft moving past a jetty. At (4:44) what appears to be a 12 gun salute is given, possibly as part of a military funeral ceremony. At (5:37) a woman visits a grave and places a flower. At (5:48) a church sits in a rural landscape. At (5:59) footage of a group of cats. At (6:13) a young boy drives a tractor on a farm. At (6:29) two kids ride a goat. One of them wears a cowboy hat. At (7:26) the kid dressed as a cowboy pulls out his toy gun and shoots. Pioneer Zephyr is a diesel-powered trainset built by the Budd Company in 1934 for the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad (CB&Q), commonly known as the Burlington Route. The trainset was the second internal combustion-powered streamliner built for mainline service in the United States (after the Union Pacific Railroad's M-10000), the first such train powered by a diesel engine, and the first to enter revenue service. The M-10000 was an early American streamlined passenger trainset that operated for the Union Pacific Railroad from 1934 until 1941. It was the first streamlined passenger train to be delivered in the United States, and the second to enter regular service after the Pioneer Zephyr of the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad. Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed. For almost two decades, we've worked to collect, scan and preserve the world as it was captured on 35mm, 16mm and 8mm movies -- including home movies, industrial films, and other non-fiction. If you have endangered films you'd like to have scanned, or wish to donate celluloid to Periscope Film so that we can share them with the world, we'd love to hear from you. Contact us via the weblink below. This film is part of the Periscope Film LLC archive, one of the largest historic military, transportation, and aviation stock footage collections in the USA. Entirely film backed, this material is available for licensing in 24p HD, 2k and 4k.
