That year was the 33rd annual service, and broadcast coast to coast on CBS, and the event was hosted by The Chimes, with orchestral performances directed by Roger Wagner. The Roger Wagner Chorale and Orchestra performed Handel's Messiah among other works. The benediction was provided by Rev. Ronald Holcomb. Hollywood star Howard Keel also participated. Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed. For almost two decades, we've worked to collect, scan and preserve the world as it was captured on 35mm, 16mm and 8mm movies -- including home movies, industrial films, and other non-fiction.
