Please bear with as it has some great content. This 1940s Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) police training film shows various ways to search suspects and how to handcuff them properly. It shows one officer searching two men, two officers searching two men, how to identify suspects, and how to search suspects that have been pulled over. The film also shows an officer extensively searching a vehicle for weapons and an officer using a suspect’s belt as a means of further constraining him. 0:07 a police officer handcuffing a suspect and searching him, 0:33 an officer searching two men, 0:59 officer cuffs the two suspects together in an uncomfortable way to prevent them from escaping, 1:31 two officers stopping burglary suspect, 1:50 officer searches the burglars’ vehicle for weapons, 3:26 other officer takes notes while the officer keeps searching, 4:23 officer approaches a suspect and begins searching him, 5:02 two officers searching two suspects with each officer responsible for one of the suspects, 5:54 officer handcuffs a subject in a situation where a wall isn’t available for the suspect to put his hands on, 6:22 officer pulls over a car of two suspect and makes him come out, 7:31 officer makes two suspects hold on to the top of their car while he searches them, 8:29 using a suspects belt as a means to constrain him further.
