While Dodge's defense activities take priority, the company is still putting out some cars based on 1941 designs. Famed stunt driver Jimmie Lynch is shown behind the wheel of one of these new cars, showing how the car and its Powerflow engine being put through its paces. Lynch drives it up a flight of stairs, puts it off a ramp, drives it over railroad ties, and puts it through a variety of punishments including the scary "Roll of Death". Jimmie Lynch and his Death Dodgers were famous for their "Thrill Hunter" shows. Auto thrill shows were a staple at State Fairs and other outdoor entertainment venues in this country. In the 1930s there were many pioneer auto show outfits operated by brave men like Joie Chitwood, Stoney Roberts, Lucky Teeter (who died giving a performance) and Jimmie Lynch who provided vicarious excitement for millions of fans for decades. Lynch's shows for Dodge served to advertise the many advanced design features that made the 1934 Plymouth his choice to survive the severe abuse inflicted on the cars in those performances. Lynch would remain loyal to the Chrysler Corporation throughout his career as a daredevil as can be seen in this very entertaining film. Includes great slow motion shots, and of course insane stunts with very heavy cars. 00:00-0:49: The speaker reflects on the ideals of America, referencing Abraham Lincoln's belief in striving for righteousness. The spirit of Lincoln is said to be alive across the country, where men are working in factories, embodying progress and steadfastness. 1:00-1:33: Dodge, a pioneer in the automotive field, takes pride in its contributions to American industry, having produced over 5 million vehicles by 1941. Dodge has also supported the U.S. government during wartime by manufacturing tanks and parts for military equipment. 2:02-2:28: The speaker emphasizes Dodge's ongoing support of the war effort, with over 50,000 trucks being used by the U.S. Army. Dodge is also releasing new, improved cars, despite prioritizing defense work. 2:50-3:16: The scene transitions to Jimmy Lynch, a stunt driver, testing the new Dodge car. He acknowledges its appearance, but his focus shifts to its performance, praising the brakes, acceleration, and the smooth operation of the fluid drive system. 3:47-4:10: Jimmy Lynch demonstrates the car's ability to handle a steep grade effortlessly with its all-fluid drive, which prevents stalling and eliminates the need for clutch or brake pedals. 4:34-4:56: The car is shown handling loose sand with ease, illustrating its power and traction. 5:04-5:50: A high-speed test is conducted where a tire is intentionally blown out to showcase the car's safety features, including safety rims that prevent the tire from coming off the rim. 6:02-6:41: The car is put through a series of intense tests, including tilting and bouncing over railroad ties, where the car maintains its stability and smoothness despite rough handling. 7:01-7:22: The car's strength and stability are further tested in a "steeplechase" course, with slow-motion footage highlighting its durability during every jolt and twist. 7:36-8:04: A daring jump is performed, showing the car's ability to withstand a massive impact upon landing. The stunt is replayed in slow motion for emphasis. 8:17-8:36: The most extreme stunt is performed, "the roll of death," where the car is flipped over, and slow-motion footage shows the full force of the test. This test proves the Dodge's resilience and strength. 9:00-9:47: Jimmy Lynch, a veteran stunt driver, endorses the Dodge, noting its dependability after performing over 1,000 stunts in Dodge vehicles. He confidently declares it the best car for the job. 9:47-10:33: The speaker wraps up, highlighting the lasting durability of Dodge cars, which are built to endure for many years and miles. The new Dodge is proclaimed the best vehicle on the market. Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed.
