It begins with a colorful ‘focus leader’ for the film operator (:07-:50). A map shows where the island of Tahiti is located (1:40-1:58). A Pan Am Jet Clipper is shown flying, followed by a bird’s eye view of the Society Islands (2:00-2:55). Views of waves crashing in and clouds are shown, followed by other scenery (2:56-4:00). The camera scans the city of Papeete and people smiling in conversation. The harbor docks full of boats are shown from the water. An older sailboat with a red cloth sail moves past (4:01-5:25). A row boat with a single man paddling is highlighted against smooth waters, blue sky, and clouds (5:45). A black pig sleeps on its side in the grass, a rooster passes, people nap during the day, ducks waddle directly away from the camera, followed by an individual on the beach (5:47-6:20). A Tiki watches (6:35). A single set of footprints has walked through the sand; the owner joins two other men on a simple catamaran. All three wear floral swim trunks and a floral head wreath. The camera films multiple angles of them sailing (6:42-8:15). Grass skirts shake as Hula dancers perform (9:15). A bus pulls into a crowded market (11:35-12:00). A variety of island food includes papaya, breadfruit, pomplamoose, and a pig’s head (12:09). People attend a church on Sunday; almost everyone wear a hat (12:40-13:30). Two boys sword fight using poles with a coconut as the hilt (14:02-14:06). A child plays with a crab (14:10). A smiling female with a red flower in her hair swims toward the camera, and other women also wear flowers. Men and women wear hats with floral decorations (14:41-15:38). A band of Tahitian men wearing floral shorts and head wreaths play guitar, sing, and one dances (16:39-17:45). A spear fisherman pops up with his catch, others spear fish, and one throws a net in from shore. Two men carry a pole on their shoulders with fish hanging from it (17:57-18:34). A man uses an axe to make a canoe (18:58). The trees on a small island stand in the distance (19:29). To pearl dive, lead is held between the toes to help sink the 100 feet holding their breaths (19:38-20:44). A machete chops a coconut. Many coconuts are shown on the beach. A man opens them over a sharp blade to be used for drinking, eating, fuel, boats, and housing (20:49-22:10). Coffee beans are spread out to dry (22:13). Drummers drum and a pretty woman very quickly shakes her skirt and hand pom-poms (24:05-25:50). Sunset through the palm trees and over the water is shown (25:56-26:30). Two people canoe past through the moonlight (26:59-27:10). Night fishing involves torches and spears while the men walk through the water. A Hula in the moonlight encourages them (27:28-28:13).
