This episode "Jeepers Jamboree" covers the annual events, which is an off road trip through the famous Rubicon Trail in Northern California. The trip, which covers 84 miles, takes a day and a half through rough terrain. The journey begins in Georgetown, where adventurers gather with various four-wheel-drive vehicles. Only 300 vehicles were selected from a thousand requests, and the drivers are committed to leaving the environment unspoiled. Participants face various challenges, including rain turning the trail into a quagmire and a vehicle crashing through a bridge timber. Despite these obstacles, they reach the night camp, set up provisions, and enjoy a bonfire and an impromptu floor show. The next morning, they continue their journey, eventually reaching the majestic shores of Lake Tahoe, marking the end of their adventure. In addition to Jeeps, some of the vehicles shown in the film include International Harvester Scouts and Toyota Land Cruisers aka Toyota Jeep BJ. 1:03 - 1:40: Host Dick Simmons introduces the program, highlighting the adventurous journey from Georgetown, California to Lake Tahoe, which will take a day and a half through rough terrain. 1:50 - 2:22: The journey begins in Georgetown, a peaceful town in the Sierra Nevada mountains. The adventurers gather with various four-wheel-drive vehicles for the challenging 84-mile trip. 2:36 - 3:00: Only 300 vehicles were selected from a thousand requests. The drivers are committed to leaving the environment unspoiled, following the creed to leave no trace. 3:08 - 3:18: Part of the $50 entry fee covers lunch, which will be much appreciated later. 3:26 - 3:41: The initial part of the trip is easy, but it soon becomes challenging. The caravan moves through a cloud of dust along a beautiful lake and into the wilderness. 4:02 - 4:18: The sun shining through the pines makes the route scenic, but the dust becomes overwhelming. 5:04 - 5:14: The travelers reach the South Fork of the Rubicon River, only to find the bridge collapsed. They remove fan belts to prevent water from splashing on the ignition system. 6:30 - 7:00: The drivers carefully cross the stream, helping each other through the challenges. 7:45 - 8:05: Some drivers have to change lanes to make it through. One driver’s ignition gets wet, but he uses ingenuity to get out of the current. 8:37 - 9:22: The caravan passes an abandoned WWII ambulance, a reminder of the area's ruggedness. 9:22 - 9:45: The group takes a break in Wentworth Springs, an old lumber town, to share stories and rest. 10:00 - 10:18: They pause at a cool lake before tackling the mountain. 11:04 - 11:34: When trouble arises, there's always help available. Tools and winches solve most problems. 12:09 - 12:22: Joe Stansel of Placerville uses a winch to move a large boulder blocking the path. 12:49 - 13:14: Rain turns the trail into a quagmire, adding to the challenge. 13:51 - 14:09: The travelers take a break to wash off dust in a refreshing stream. 14:27 - 14:54: They reach the top of the Gravy Chute, the most rugged part of the trail. 16:20 - 16:54: Early arrivers at the bivouac watch others struggle down the chute. 17:29 - 17:55: Disaster strikes when a vehicle crashes through a bridge timber, forcing others to find an alternate route. 18:00 - 18:17: The group reaches the night camp, setting up provisions and sleeping bags. 18:50 - 19:11: Evening sets in with bonfires and an impromptu floor show. 19:29 - 20:01: Early morning arrives, and the travelers prepare to continue their journey. 21:11 - 21:45: The caravan nears Lake Tahoe, with the terrain becoming easier. 22:02 - 22:12: The journey ends at the majestic shores of Lake Tahoe, marking the end of a memorable adventure.
