The dog's famous pipe appears to have been removed. The dog building was demolished sometime in the 1950s but a recreation was built for the Disney film "The Rocketeer". That replica was later installed in the Peterson Automobile Museum and is now part of a local restaurant called the Idle Hour. The building is an example of roadside vernacular architecture which was celebrated in Jim Heimann's book "California Crazy".
