        <description>Shot in the mid-1950s, this silent film shows a trip to the U.K.  From what we can tell it includes a visit to London, England and Coleraine in Northern Ireland. Please add comments to the video if you recognize locations in it. Highlights include: 00:42 -- small neighborhood "Star Theater" movie theater showing "A Blueprint for Murder", a 1953 film. 00:48 -- snowfall in a quiet neighborhood 1:02 -- couple walking along a pond 1:13 - busy streets of what might be London, with double decker bus visible in background. At 1:18 a Royal Mail truck drives past. 1:21 -- shots of Buckingham Palace, including at 1:33 a member of the Queen's Guard in winter uniform. 3:30 - rain pouring over somewhere in the countryside or suburbs, probably Londonderry in Northern Ireland. 4:34 - rainswept streets of Coleraine with City Hall visible in the distance. An F.W. Woolworth's store is visible. 4:42 - motorcycle policeman poses 5:02 - Coleraine Shirt and Collar Company factory in Coleraine, Londonderry, Northern Ireland. 5:05 - beautiful stone church. 5:55 - Miramar Cafe on the coast, as well as shots of an unidentified coastal town, possibly near Troon. 6:16 - the ubiquitous red phone box visible near the quay 7:42 - interior (dark) shots of stained glass in a church 7:56 - beautiful church or cathedral visible in b/g 8:10 - ruins of a large, stone buildings near the coast 9:00 - ships along a canal, sweeping shots of locks or gates 9:30 - family poses for the camera Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed.
