The film is a montage of clips underscoring Nevada’s natural riches and the ways the state has benefited economically and grown from the industries associated with them. According to the film, which was distributed by the United States Information Service, the Spaniards were the first to enter the state’s territory in 1776 but did not stay long due to the tough terrain and hostility from the native population. Nonetheless, during the Westward Expansion, pioneers and explorers came to settle and started to develop the state's silver industry. Due to the sharp decline in the value of silver at one point, this industrial momentum slowed but later returned strong amongst other industries landing the US at the top of the list of global silver producers alongside Mexico, Canada, Australia, Germany, Japan, India, and Burma.
