The Shore Patrol maintain good order and discipline among military personnel and apprehend all unauthorized absentees (and other offenders as necessary). They watch over sailors on shore leave and represents the commanding officers of the sailors. The film follows to Shore Patrol members through a day of patrols. Their activities include checking documentation of sailors to ensure they are allowed to be on leave, assisting civilians who have problems with sailors, keeping an eye out for deserters, and assisting civilian police if sailors are involved.
