The film features John Mauldin and tells a twisted version of the Thanksgiving story. The film begins with Johnny being dragged out by "orderlies", only to find that Doc wants to tell the true story of how early English settlers survived in the New World. Johnny recounts his arrival in America and how Native Americans introduced him to a magical red berry. Through a whimsical musical sequence, the berry is eventually named "cranberry" and celebrated for its many uses. Doc uses his magic pot to show the future of cranberries and their widespread cultivation and processing across America. Johnny and Priscilla, his love interest, joke about the past and ask Doc to send them 350 years into the future. There, they marvel at modern America, its landscapes, cranberry products, and cultural festivals. Eventually, they return to Plymouth Colony and find the settlers doing well, celebrating a Thanksgiving feast. Johnny decides not to tell them about the future, feeling that he and Doc have helped more than anyone realizes. The tale ends with gratitude and a humorous note about Johnny’s poor cooking. 00:00 A chaotic scene unfolds with someone (Johnny) being dragged against his will, introducing comedic tension. 0:32 – Johnny confronts "Doc" about the strange situation; Doc says he wants to tell the real story behind the survival of early English settlers. 1:10 – Johnny begins narrating his story, mentioning his arrival in America and meeting helpful locals. 1:50 – A musical segment begins about a magical berry used by Native Americans, later called "cranberry." 2:25 – The name “cranberry” is invented based on the berry’s resemblance to a crane’s head. 3:01 – The cranberry’s future fame is foretold, with mentions of regions where it grows and how it's harvested. 3:35 – Cranberries are described as being processed using machines that bounce them for quality. 4:07 – Song highlights the versatility of cranberries in various foods. 4:52 – Johnny marvels at future cranberry production shown by Doc’s magic pot. 5:23 – Priscilla is introduced as Johnny's love; they joke about a past love triangle with Miles Standish. 5:54 – Priscilla and Johnny ask Doc to send them into the future to see America 350 years later. 6:00 – Music signals time travel into future America. 7:36 – A patriotic song begins, celebrating America’s heritage and potential. 8:21 – Lyrics describe America as a land constantly reborn, available to anyone who cares. 9:29 – Chorus repeats the theme of “look upon America,” encouraging reflection. 10:03 – America is shown as a land once known only to Native Americans, now shaped by its people. 10:34 – A lighthearted song celebrates life in the Pacific Northwest and cranberry bogs. 11:19 – Scene shifts to Wisconsin, noted for Norwegian festivals and cranberry farming. 11:50 – “Heat” and crowd noise or music fill the background. 12:11 – Johnny and Priscilla find themselves aboard a ship again, joking about pilgrim swimsuits. 13:00 – They agree it's time to return to Plymouth Colony after their journey. 13:21 – They arrive at what looks like a Thanksgiving feast. 13:40 – A prayer of thanks is given, humorously including thanks for being spared Johnny's cooking. 14:17 – Johnny reflects on the progress made and implies his and Doc’s contributions Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed.
