<description>Interviewed at age 93, Scott served as a Navy pilot in World War 2 and Korea flying the F6F Hellcats and later F14 Tomcats. He went on to be a test pilot for Grumman, eventually working on Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo. MacLeod worked with NASA's Apollo astronauts to develop and test the lunar module at Grumman's Bethpage facility in New York. He later moved to the Cape Canaveral area and his position became Apollo "Lunar Module Test Astronaut". He was one of the only non-astronauts to fly the famous "Bedstead" Lunar Module Trainer. Scott was also the Grumman Spokesman for CBS TV during Apollo coverage with Walter Cronkite. He would report while dressed in a spacesuit while sitting in a lunar module. He also flew the NASA KC-135 "Vomit Comet". He applied for an astronaut position and was told he would probably fly Apollo 19 (which was cancelled). Scott knew Charles Lindberg quite well and invited him to quietly attend the Apollo 8 launch "under cover". Lindberg also attended the Apollo 8 pre-lauch breakfast. Scott surprised his wife when Lindberg came to dinner with no warning. After Apollo, he worked in the Middle East for an unnamed government agency, even living in Iran at one point. At the time of the interview, at age 93, Scott was still flying privately and teaching aerobatics. Sadly, Scott passed away April 12, 2021. He was 95.
