The film follows a small, rural Canadian family as they problem solve how to keep a hardworking, recently married farmhand employed on their land during the winter months. The film gives pragmatic information that would have been highly valuable to the rural farmers who would have seen this film in its original context on the National Film Board's rural film circuit. A slow moving truck, a man moves hay off of it. A truck backs up and picks up hay. The sons and their farmer father sit at the kitchen table (11:38-13:13). Brochures for new stables.
