Merrill is shown (8:52). Fashions of the Day 1920. Women dressed in long coats and hats include Mrs. Warren Harding and Mrs. Vice President Marshall. Women are seated at a long table for a reception meal. A woman wears a hat covered in feathers (9:50). Sports. 1926, women athletes compete in the National Track and Field Championships in Philadelphia. The 100-yard dash and hammer throw are shown (10:31). 1925, men in one-piece bathing suits climb into longboats to race. People sit in open slowly moving trains so they can continue viewing the race on the Hudson (11:01).
