        <description>This color educational film is about the U.S. Marines Fourteen Man Rifle Squad on patrol. This is circa the 1960s. Opening: Marines on patrol in an open field. Bombs explode and they all take cover. Titles: The Fourteen Man Rifle Squad (:07-:29). Marines rush out with their backpacks and rifles. The marines line up before the platoon commander. They are inspected one at a time. They are then looked at from behind to make sure they are ready to go (:30-2:29). Their leader tells them to gather around and listen to orders. Out in the field, they go over a map. Men nods their heads. The men get ready and start to move out. As the men traverse the field, they crouch down and stop. Mountainous view in from of them. A soldier marks things down on the map. Squad leader motions to his men and looks at a map with three other soldiers, orders are given (2:30-5:46). The marines move forward. The run and take cover in high weeds as rifle fire is around them. The men crawl along the ground, moving forward, as other marines fire over them for cover. Marines fire their rifles. A leader points out and yells. The squad leader uses a communication radio. A Marine fires his rifle. Smoke and exploding bombs in the distance. A plane drops a bomb (5:47-7:58). Marines move and fire in the brush. A squad leader motions to others to move and in which direction. Soldiers get up and run. Other soldiers close in. A Marine digs a fox hole. Some Marines discuss as it starts to get dark. A finger points at a map. Marines sit and talk to the man in charge (7:59-10:21). A marine squad leader points to a map and talks with others.  Marines are positioned and at the ready with their weapons. Marines move forward and crouch down. They continue going forward. Two marines discuss (10:22-12:07). Marines ready with their weapons. They are paired into two man teams. A platoon commander talks to two men. A map is pointed to and the detail shown. Marines move. Some of them take cover in a foxhole. The platoon commander explains the plan. The marines rush to waiting helicopters, Boeing Vertol 107s, and they take off. Marines in the choppers, ready for duty. The helicopters start to land. The back of the helicopters opens and the marines come rushing out. They hit the ground and have their rifles at the ready (12:08-15:32). End credits (15:33-15:40).
