The film presents various scenarios including a car bombing, drive by assassination, and an ambush. The primary lesson is that personnel must always remain alert and not fall into routines or get too distracted. The film also suggests that staying in, and not circulating locally or sightseeing, might be the best policy where safety is concerned. Copyright is 1986. Titles: U.S. Air Force presents "Terrorism: A Survivable Threat" (:08-:22). U.S. Marine Corps personnel stationed in a foreign embassy discuss security. The NCO points out that a special barrier was placed in front of the U.S. ambassador's office due to a threat. One of the men talks to the NCO about hitching a ride. A little African American girl talks with her mother. Her husband, who we will later find out is a U.S. Army officer, puts a new deadbolt lock on the door of his base housing. He takes a seat and points out to his wife all the security measures he's installed. Palm trees are seen as an Air Force officer drives in a car in a Central American locale. He answers his CB radio (:23-3:03). Inside an overseas base administration building, a sailor moves packages while a female naval officer talks to her superior about package safety. She mentions that he husband is picking her up later. An Air Force officer drives in his car. A family eats dinner. An officer goes out without his uniform, meets his CO, the two walk. Inside of a U.S. Navy post office (3:04-5:05). A female officer makes a phone call. Back in Central America, two Marines, now sans uniforms leave the U.S. Embassy. They pull up to a fruit stand, buy fruit from a female. The two men drive off. Mountains in the distance. Air Force personnel walk towards a car and look it over. They are checking for a car bomb or other form of sabotage. They check the doors and the gas cap. They then focus on the interior. Air Force personnel drive a car near a scenic overlook (5:06-8:02). A car drives and then curves quickly, one guy performs a 180 spin, and shows the other how to lose a potential pursuer. Nighttime at a home, the man of the house checks on his daughter, who's sleeping in bed. The doorbell rings, an older woman gives the housewife some bread in a basket. The man kisses his daughter goodnight. The older woman then hands her a lollipop for the daughter as well. The lady of the house, goes over and grabs her telephone, makes a call. The father is now dressed in his U.S. Army uniform and he leaves for work. He whistles as he enters his car (8:03-11:55). Back to the Central American scenario: the men's car approaches a van that appears to be broken down. A curvy woman poses so as to make the men take notice. Back in Europe, one Air Force officer leaves another off at a bus stop. The female Navy officer leaves the building where she works. The African American Army officer is killed as a car bomb detonates, flames everywhere. Back in Central America, the curvy woman leans into her van, the Air Force men stare at her, one of the men senses a setup, turns around, a shotgun blast takes him out. The woman and another terrorist produce machine guns and kill the two men (11:56-14:14). The guy at the bus stop cleans his glasses. Other military men wait at the bus stop. One man isn't wearing a uniform and acts oddly. He drops a grenade and runs as the grenade explodes. The woman with the umbrella waves as she waits for her husband. Suddenly, two people on a little scooter drive by, and gun her down. U.S. personnel are shown, deceased where they lie. The car continues to burn. Now the scenario repeats with different choices being made: The two men pull up to the sexy woman at the van. They drive around the van, foiling the attack. Repeat scenario: The female officer talks on the phone, she exits the building. She enters a car and kisses her husband. Repeat scenario: The Air Force officer at the bus stop is alert this time and yells "grenade" enabling everyone to dive for cover. Repeat scenario: the man who blew up in the car looks over his car this time and senses something is amiss. He runs back to his house. Military march and drill. Taps at a funeral. The American flag is presented to the relatives of the dead (14:15-18:59). End credits (19:00-19:08).
