This was made in 1948. Opening titles: SO YOU WANT THRILLS! featuring Jimmie Lynch and his Death Dodgers. Presented by Dodge (:08-:46). Amusement Park rides. People roam a carnival, walk by the Merry-Go-Round. People go over towards the Death Dodgers. Henry wants to be a Death Dodger, he fights with his girlfriend about joining Jimmie Lynch, the girlfriend goes off with another guy. Henry goes backstage and meets Jimmie Lynch. People watch as the Dodge cars are doing tricks by going over tilted ramps. They use Dodge cars only (:47-2:54). Dodge convertibles going over tilted ramps. A radio announcer calls the action. The ramps get taller and the Dodge convertibles go over them on one side, causing the cars to tilt to one side. A man gets his car caught in the ramp. The crowd is anxious. The crew tries to get the man out but they cannot, they run off and he stand as two cars head towards the ramp and both miss him. The crowd is amazed and relieved. The man who got caught in the ramp is ejected from the arena. The three Dodge convertibles hit the ramps and drive fast. The announcer explains what is going on. A stuntman tumbles from the back of an automobile. Henry returns riding a 1935 Dodge like a horse (2:55-5:37). Henry is challenged by the other guy. He comes out of the stands onto the track and grabs a rope attached to the 1935 Dodge. People laugh and watch. Henry is being carried off but Jimmie Lynch wants to talk to him. A stunt showing a Dodge jump a truck. Henry tries to jump the truck but wasn't going fast enough and his Dodge hits the truck. The announcer explains that accidents happen.. Jimmie Lynch yells at Henry and they agree to meet after the show. Dodge Power Wagon goes through some thick mud. Another goes into even deeper muddy water. A 60% grade along with a bunch of people in the back (5:38-9:47). Henry takes his car to a set of stairs. He then backs down the stairs (9:48-11:05). The other guy drives around with Henrys girlfriend. He's teaching her how to drive. She is driving a car very herky-jerky. She holds the wheel as he explains how to drive. He yells at her and switches seats with her as she gets the car stuck in mud. The girlfriend exits the car and Henry shows up. She gets into Henry's Dodge and she sits in the drivers seat. Henry explains how. She drives off as the other guy is stuck in mud. The girlfriend drives. Batter is being mixed in a bowl. Two mixers with two bowls stuck together. Diagram of an engine and the transmission and the clutch shaft. Car axle diagram (11:06-14:48). Close on the gear shifts. They stop and then start again (14:49-15:47). Title: THE NEXT DAY. Dodge Convertibles from Jimmie's Death Dodgers on the track. The Dodge Death Dodger Convertibles hit the ramps. The Dodge box spring is shown. Two Dodge Death Dodger Convertibles hit the ramps. Henry talks with Jimmie Lynch (15:48-17:50). Henry is put in a car and handcuffed as he's dangerous. The crowd watches the action. The radio announcer talks. Jimmie Lynch drives a Dodge Death Dodger convertible backwards and then he speaks. He talks about what to do it your car goes into a skid and if a tire blows out. An ordinary wheel has a piece of dynamite on it and blows the tire out deliberately, it comes clear off the wheel. He shows a woman driving under the exact same experiment and based on his instructions, the car slows and stops without incident. An ordinary rim versus a Dodge safety rim is explained and shown in animation (17:51-22:08). The tire blown again and the driver gets it to stop without incident based on the Dodge safety rim. Henry gets the Dodge to start and he starts driving on the track. Henry's girlfriend watches from the stands as the Dodge hits a firewall and busts through it. Henry heads for the truck and is going to jump seven cars but as he jumps he hits the seventh car and crashes. Henry is taken out of the car and is okay. Jimmie Lynch asks the crowd if Henry should join, the crowd cheers. Henry has one more test to get through in order to join. He is placed into a Dodge and he starts driving. The crowd watches with anticipation. Henry hits a ramp and must roll three times - he does. The crowd cheers. The Dodge car has a damaged, dented roof but is otherwise okay. Henry waves to the crowd. Henry kisses his girlfriend as Jimmie Lynch says goodbye (22:09-26:15). End credits (26:16-26:25).
