Footage includes V-E Day in New York, busy shots of Americans getting back to normal life after the war, miscellaneous battle shots and many views of men receiving medical treatment in military hospitals. These include amputees, men in wheelchairs, and every variety of injury. "To Win the Peace" reflects on the post-war era in the United States, where peace has been embraced, and people are making up for lost time. It shares personal stories of veterans who were injured in the war, reminiscing about their ability to walk, fight, and serve. Although the war is over, many battles remain for the veterans as they recover. The narrative emphasizes the obligation to support these men who fought for freedom by purchasing victory bonds, which provide essential medical care. It concludes by highlighting that true peace cannot be achieved while veterans remain wounded, urging support through victory bonds for those who secured victory. 0:00 Introduction: The post-war world is here, and the United States has embraced peace, with people making up for lost time. 1:02 - Personal stories: "My daddy walks funny"; "My husband is blind"; "My boy won't ever walk again." 1:14 - Memories of when they could walk, fight, and serve in the war. 1:51 - The war is over, but many battles remain for the men who fought. 2:13 - For these men, V-Day will come, and they will leave the hospital and return to the world they fought for. 2:30 - Obligation to support these men, as they were sent to fight for us. 2:42 - Buying victory bonds provides the finest medical care for those who fought. 3:04 - The world is at peace, but peace cannot be in our hearts while men lie wounded. 3:16 - Buying victory bonds for the men who bought victory for us.
