Copyright 1944. Opening: U.S. Navy Training Film - Night Vision (:06-:19). A sailor raises binoculars at night. Eyes on a face. Eyes shift. Diagram of how the human eye works, animation shows how the eye lens sees. Diagram points out how an eye sees during the day versus at night. A man looks up at night under darkness (:20-2:17). Sailors sit and read. A man rushes up the stairs and goes from light to dark. Two men look up at night. Sailors open goggles and wear special "dark adapt" red goggles before going on watch (2:18-3:30). A red lens flashlight is used. Binoculars are adjusted. A sailor wears his goggles as he goes from dark to light. A silhouette of a ship against the moon (3:31-4:35). A man stares out and then uses binoculars. Sailors eat below deck, put on special goggles, writes down on a pad. Sailors use binoculars, look at the horizon (4:36-5:23). End credits (5:24-5:31).
