Specifically, it contains footage from the Gemini IV, V, and VI missions that all took place in 1965. Opening: engineers assemble a Gemini capsule in a clean room. Engineer presses a piece into place with his bare hand (:08-1:40). Engineers put pieces into place on a capsule. A heat test is conducted on the outer rings. A Titan II GLV booster is launched. An astronaut, Ed White, floats outside of the Gemini IV spacecraft above Earth. On June 3, 1965, Ed White became the first American to walk in space when he ventured outside the Gemini capsule into the vacuum of the cosmos (1:41-4:26). Ed White continues to float in space while tethered to the Gemini IV. White slowly comes back towards the craft after floating and spinning in space. White then floats back into space (4:27-7:50). White goes upside down and floats, his tethered line keeping him from floating off into the vastness of space. Earth is seen below as White spins and comes closer to the craft (7:51-10:05). Astronauts Gordon Cooper and Pete Conrad walk into an elevator. NASA men help the astronauts enter their craft. Gemini V leaves the launch pad, August 21, 1965. Gemini V heads for space. Rockets are moved by trucks (10:06-11:51). Night time - elevator goes up on the launch pad. Launch pad is lit up. Rocket is launched, Gemini VI rocket, December 15, 1965. Gemini VI capsule floats in space (11:52-13:48). Gemini VI in space. An astronaut can be seen from inside one of the windows. Gemini VI floats against the backdrop of earth. Gemini VI floats off into the darkness of space (13:49-16:15). Stars. Fast footage showing the earth spinning and the craft quickly flying over it. Re-entry capsule floats in the ocean. Navy dispatches men to get the men and the craft. Capsule is opened and astronauts shake hands with NASA men on USS Wasp. Astronauts exit. Astronauts are hoisted into a helicopter. POV from the helicopter hoisting him up (16:16-18:50). Helicopter doors open and astronauts exit. Gemini V astronauts (18:51-20:00) on USS Wasp. No end credits.
