The film covers topics like the flight system, fuel and oil system, and electrical system as well as operational equipment and landing gear. The McDonnell F2H Banshee is a single-seat carrier-based jet fighter aircraft designed and produced during the 1940s and 50s by the American aircraft manufacturer McDonnell Aircraft. By the mid-1950s, not long after this film was made, the U.S. Navy and USMC began retiring their Banshees in favor of newer and more capable jet aircraft. Film opens, opening credits (0:06). Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed. For almost two decades, we've worked to collect, scan and preserve the world as it was captured on 35mm, 16mm and 8mm movies -- including home movies, industrial films, and other non-fiction. If you have endangered films you'd like to have scanned, or wish to donate celluloid to Periscope Film so that we can share them with the world, we'd love to hear from you.
