It was apparently produced by Teen Challenge, a Christian organization that founded by David Wilkerson in 1960. (Wilkerson gained national recognition after he co-authored the book The Cross and the Switchblade in 1962 with John and Elizabeth Sherrill about his street ministry.) Teen Challenge seeks to rehabilitate young people caught in the grips of drug use. The film shows boys and young men in the African American and Puerto Rican communities in Brooklyn who are in open rebellion against "the man". Many of them are heroin users or addicts who are getting high simply for the "thrill". The film includes various gang members from groups including the Suicides, Latin Crowns, Killers and Hellburners. The film is apparently hosted and narrated by Wilkerson. He laments the various activities he witnesses. He also provides a homily of sorts at the end of the film, discussing the positive impact of Teen Challenge, and discussing how a spiritual revolution must occur so that the upcoming generation can be saved. 00:00: Opening images, young men and boys drinking wine or beer on a city street. 1:12: Wilkerson stands on a rooftop in Brooklyn and describes witnessing teenage addicts using heroin and their failed attempts to get clean. 2:24: Dangerous and desperate conditions in the slums of major cities, highlighting the prevalence of drug addiction, crime, and gang violence. 2:30: Rough streets of the Bronx or Brooklyn, in the ghetto near skid row. 3:20: delinquents destroy the roof of a parked car. 4:00: Interviews with teenage gang members. 9:02: The speaker explores the subculture of beatniks and their rebellion against societal norms, including interviews with individuals involved in various forms of counterculture and deviant behavior. 9:23: gang member is mockingly punched, possibly as part of initiation rite 9:47: Visit to the Catacomb Chapel in New York, home of Teen Challenge group operated by Anne Wilkerson. 10:46: group of beatniks or hippies including what narrator describes as male and female prostitutes, homosexuals, winos, delinquents and others sinners who have "sold their souls to satan". 16:05: The speaker addresses the tragic issue of drug addiction among youth, describing the hopelessness and desperation of addicts. Addicts are shown in shooting galleries, in withdrawal, and suffering effects of heroin use. 17:21: Heroin is injected into the arm of a teen. 18:03: The speaker introduces Teen Challenge, a faith-based program aimed at helping addicts through the power of the gospel, featuring testimonies from former addicts who have found salvation and recovery through the program. The original building for Teen Challenge is shown, at 416 Clinton Ave. in Brooklyn. 19:45: Criminal Courts Building. Police Capt. Paul Delina handles the Teen Challenge case load, pictured with female gang member Lucy Cantry after her release from probation. 20:13: Introduction to the Teen Challenge School for Girls in Reinbeck, New York, a refuge for former addicts, prostitutes, unwed mothers, and troubled girls. 21:15: Eddie, a drug addict, discusses his struggle with addiction .23:29: Introduction to the Teen Challenge Training Center in Rehrersburg, Pennsylvania, where former addicts share their stories of salvation and recovery. 24:46: Thomas, a former alcoholic, recounts his experience of finding God and being healed. 25:22: Domingo, a former narcotic addict, describes his journey to Teen Challenge and finding salvation 26:45: Yugo, a former marijuana smoker, shares how he was inspired by a friend's transformation and decided to join Teen Challenge 27:20: Jimmy, a former drug addict, talks about his transformation and newfound faith 28:11: Ralph, another former drug addict, explains why he didn't find help in church and how Teen Challenge changed his life 29:11: Wilkerson emphasizes the importance of responsibility to God and the hope Teen Challenge offers to the youth. 29:25: Sheet placed over a deceased body at the morgue. Montage of heroin injection, youth fighting, another night in New York City.
