It was a popular destination for celebrities and socialites. The resort's history dates back to the late 1700s when guests flocked to the area to enjoy the mineral springs, believed to have health benefits. Over time, it became a favorite destination for the rich and famous, and it continues to operate as a luxury resort today. The film showcases the resort's grounds, interior, amenities, as well as some of its famous guests, including the then-Duke of Windsor, Edward VIII. The last U.S. president to stay at The Greenbrier during a presidency was Dwight D. Eisenhower. A total of 28 presidents have stayed at the hotel. (Note: the Greenbrier is also the site of a massive underground bunker that was meant to serve as an emergency shelter for the United States Congress during the Cold War.
