Produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, Inc and the Vitaphone Corporation and in co-operation with and photographed by the United States Coast Guard, “Story Of A Dog” takes us on the journey that service dogs of the era go through as they are received, inspected, housed and fed, trained, and then deployed to serve on duty in the Pacific theatre of World War II. Both the handlers and the dogs (mostly German Shepherds and Doberman Pinschers) go through basic and advanced training, facing rigorous obstacle courses, owner training, and war dog tactics. Note: this print is missing the final minute. (0:06) Title sequence. Warner Bros. Pictures, Inc. and the Vitaphone Corporation present: “Story Of A Dog”.
