Col. John D. Craig, well known writer, TV host, Hollywood stunt man, pioneering deep sea diver, and adventurer. It apparently is an extract or "dailies" from one of his movie projects; Craig was a highly respected pioneer in the field of underwater photography. Here, Craig and/or members of his team are shown diving underwater in St. Thomas, using first generation SCUBA gear. John D. Craig was an American businessman, writer, soldier, diver, Hollywood stunt man, film producer, and television host. He worked in the commercial surface-supplied diving industry from the 1930s on, and filmed aerial combat over Europe during World War II. He is best known for using film and television to show the United States public the beauties and dangers of Earth's underwater worlds. Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed. For almost two decades, we've worked to collect, scan and preserve the world as it was captured on 35mm, 16mm and 8mm movies -- including home movies, industrial films, and other non-fiction.
