This silent, color film is a home movie shot in the early 1950’s and shows views of the Old Tucson movie set, the Little Britches Rodeo, and the Tucson Rodeo Parade which is held every November. The film opens with beautiful desert imagery and large Saguaro cacti near Gate's Pass. The camera pans across the desert, across the mountains, and across a small village built as a movie set 1:00. A sign is shown. “Welcome to old Tucson. The Tucson Junior Chamber of Commerce has undertaken the preservation of this exact replica of Tucson in the 1860s. We hope you enjoy your visit. The camera pans over the details of the movie set 1:40. Roadrunners play in the bush and fly away 1:55. A family gets out of their station wagon with plenty of food and provisions 2:15. Beautiful desert fauna and flowers are shown 2:30. The Little Britches Rodeo, which was founded in 1952 and allows children ages 5 to 18 to compete in a variety of different rodeo events, is shown underway 2:40. A boy rides a bucking bronco 2:47. A girl balances on the back of a horse while twirling a lasso 3:00. The men wrestle with a bucking bull in the ring 3:20. The finish line at the horse race is close 3:30. Cowgirls take their horses through the barrel races 3:50. A horse tosses its rider 4:00. A man rides a bucking bull 4:11. Women ride their horses around the racetrack 4:27. A Mexican Mariachi  band fills the street and plays their instruments 4:45. Downtown shops like The Picture Shop and Standard Business Service can be seen in downtown Tucson 4:52. Horses and stagecoaches accompanied by unicycles, ponies, clowns and marching bands fill the streets 5:20. A large wooden wagon rumbles down the street 5:37. Cowboys and cowgirls, costumed riders wave as they fill the streets with trotting horses 6:00. Horses, cowboys and Native Americans march on horseback 6:41, including one with a Confederate flag 6:35. The Clawson shop can be seen in the background 6:50. Men in green blazers ride on horseback 7:10. Large bulls pull wooden covered wagons 7:30. Heins Café can be seen in the background 7:46. Native Americans in full regalia march down the street 8:08. The Confederate flag covers a float 8:20. An old man and woman stand by their 1950s sedan 8:33. Now, the Tucson Rodeo is shown, with cowboys ride their bucking broncs 8:45. Horses jump the fences 9:00. Dog herd some sheep in the ring 9:17. Bucking broncs do their best to rid themselves of their riders 9:30. A man stands on horseback and does stunts as the horses run around the ring 9:50. Rodeo clowns protect the cowboys 10:15.
