The film shows an F-8 Crusader making a landing pass at about :20 seconds, but the plane fails to catch the cable with its hook. The aircraft makes a go-around but apparently there is a problem. The crew then deploys the barrier system so that the aircraft can make an arrested landing, around 3:11 you can see them beginning to set it up. At 5:00 the entire deck crew is busy securing the barrier. At 7:20 the barrier is up and the view returns to the deck POV of the sky, with the aircraft streaking in towards destiny. At 8:00 the aircraft hits the deck. Markings on the tail of the aircraft "NM" indicate it was likely part of CVG-19, Carrier Air Group 19, tail 50335, VF-191 "Satan's Kittens" although precise information is still needed.
