After each Rose Parade it is traditional to have the floats parked for public view, and this film shows multiple floats from :10 to 7:20. This is amateur footage and some of it is badly shot, shaky, and has other problems. Some highlights include a showboat float at 3:46 (the film came out in 1951), a patriotic float showing the signing of the Declaration of Independence at 2:19 - 3:31, and at 4:19 there's an image of George Washington and American flags at 5:09. At 7:25, dazzling shots of neon signs in Hollywood including the Hollywood Recreation Center bowling alley at 7:35, the Broadway Hotel in Hollywood at 7:41, 7-Up at 7:46, Melody Lane at 7:50, the famous neon of Beryl Wallace at the Earl Carroll Theater at 7:56, Sunset Bowling at 8:00, Chicken in the Rough at 8:12. After 8:35 are fireworks. Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed.
