It's a graphic explanation of what happens when soldiers discover unexploded shells and decide that duds would make terrific souvenirs. While the ensuing explosions aren`t exactly laugh-getters, the interaction between the scolding sergeant and his incredibly stupid subordinate, who delights like a child at each unexploded round, is practically a Three Stooges routine. The film emphasizes the dangers of unexploded ordnance and the importance of caution. It begins with a warning about handling grenades and other suspicious objects, highlighting past incidents where curiosity led to fatal consequences. The soldiers share stories of comrades who were injured or killed due to their inquisitiveness. They encounter various threats, including a tear gas gadget and unexploded shells, and discuss the risks of taking souvenirs from dead enemies. The narrative also includes a captured German soldier who provides valuable intelligence about an upcoming attack. The scene concludes with the G.I.s reflecting on the importance of avoiding unnecessary risks in a combat zone. 00:00 Titles 1:26 - A soldier warns another to leave a grenade alone, emphasizing the danger of unexploded ordnance. 2:32 - Soldiers discuss the retreat of German forces and their desire for a drink. 2:52 - They encounter a grenade and decide to take a different route. 5:03 - A soldier is reprimanded for being curious about a device, which turns out to be a tear gas gadget. 6:00 - They find a letter and decide to keep it as a souvenir, planning to have it translated later. 6:34 - Another unexploded shell is found, and the soldiers are reminded of the dangers of handling duds. 7:08 - Stories are shared about soldiers who were killed due to their curiosity about unexploded ordnance. 8:01 - A soldier finds a mortar shell, and they discuss the importance of not touching suspicious objects on the battlefield. 8:38 - They come across dead German soldiers and discuss the risks of taking souvenirs from them. 9:00 - A story is shared about a soldier who was attacked by a seemingly dead enemy. 10:08 - They find a saloon but are wary of booby traps. 11:00 - A soldier finds something suspicious and calls for help. 11:58 - They capture a German soldier who speaks some English and provides valuable intelligence about an upcoming attack. 13:11 - The soldiers realize the importance of the information and decide to report it to their superiors. 13:39 - The scene ends with the soldiers reflecting on the dangers of curiosity in a combat zone.
