The film shows the training and duties of policewomen in New York City. It then focuses on Mary Dolan, a policewoman who works undercover to catch a purse snatcher. The film then highlights the history and structure of the policewomen's bureau, led by Director of Policewomen Irene Peters. The narrator mentions that many of the women are college graduates and married, some to policemen. Nancy Elizabeth Jones, a new recruit, undergoes rigorous training at the police academy, learning skills like judo, fingerprinting, and handling a revolver. She is trained to deal with various crimes, including theft, fraud, and murder. Nancy successfully makes her first arrest and later tackles a more challenging assignment in Central Park. After three months of training, she graduates as a full-fledged member of the Police Department and is recognized for her achievements.
