The film also includes footage of activities that racers got to participate in around the event, including a visit to the Canada Pavilion at the 1962 Seattle World's Fair in Seattle, Washington (2:53), a Belgian waffle eating contest (2:14), a fish fry (1:34), and a visit to the Tacoma Narrows Bridge (4:26). At (4:58) members of the organizing committee for the races are presented with Tacoma keys to the city at the County-City Building. At (5:20) you will see one of the keys close up as well as a beauty queen. The men surrounding her may include Tacoma Mayor Harold Tollefson. Tollefson's name appears on a fire engine soap box car that is visible at (6:23). Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed.
