Hobo (voiced by Disney character actor Pinto Colvig) is a simple farm dog. He meets Pom Pom (voiced by Disney actress Adriana Caselotti), a sophisticated dog from the city who has come on a vacation to the country. Hobo does his best to impress Pom Pom, attempting to retrieve a bone he has hidden for a special occasion. Unfortunately in the process all the farm animals get released from their pens, causing the farmer to become extremely upset! In the end, Pom Pom leaves to return to the city and Hobo sets off down the railroad tracks in pursuit of his lost "lady". This charming children's film with connections to the Walt Disney studios was produced by Ted Larsen (who was primarily known as a Hollywood makeup artist) and Eskil Florman. The story was from an idea by Jack Gordon, with a script written by Pinto Colvig. It was shot by cinematographer Richard Fryer, ASC with voices by Adriana Caselotti and Pinto Colvig, score by Jay Chernis. The film was directed by Ted Larsen and edited by Asa Clark. Adriana Elena Loretta Caselotti was an American actress and singer. She was the voice of the title character of the first Walt Disney animated feature, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, for which she was named a Disney Legend in 1994. Vance DeBar Colvig Sr., known professionally as Pinto Colvig, was an American voice actor, cartoonist, and circus and vaudeville performer whose schtick was playing the clarinet off-key while mugging. Colvig was the original performer of the Disney characters Goofy and Pluto, as well as Bozo the Clown and Bluto in Popeye. Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed. For almost two decades, we've worked to collect, scan and preserve the world as it was captured on 35mm, 16mm and 8mm movies -- including home movies, industrial films, and other non-fiction. If you have endangered films you'd like to have scanned, or wish to donate celluloid to Periscope Film so that we can share them with the world, we'd love to hear from you. Entirely film backed, this material is available for licensing in 24p HD, 2k and 4k.
