It includes quotes from the 1952 book by Louis Redmond titled "What I Know About Boys” (:25). The film is narrated by Ted Mallie (:41) and was produced by Leslie Roush Productions, Inc (:45). It depicts images of young boys in recreation throughout the seasons and playfully jokes about what makes a boy tick and what he enjoys in his youth. It opens with footage of young boys jumping from a diving board (1:04). A cottage is viewed in the wintertime as the children toss snow balls at one another (1:40) and ride sleds down small hills (2:10). They then grab ski’s and move over the snowy grounds (2:54). In the summertime, the boys sit on bikes watching trains pass by (3:01) and play a baseball game (3:12). A clock is inspected and taken a part by a boy learning to understand electronics (4:17). A long log of wood is sanded down by a boy learning to use tools (5:15). The bond between young children and pets such as a dog is depicted (6:20) as a boy and his dog cross a bridge to inspect a narrow creek below for hidden trinkets (6:50). A sign for US Royal Tires is spotted (7:32) outside a bike shop as one kid checks his air tire pressure (7:47). A group of three head out for a fishing trip with one boy holding a fishing rod and the others using improvised rods made with tree branches (8:30). One of the young boys separates himself from the gang and casts his line alone (9:34). A dejected youth leans up against a tree as the film comically points out the grumpy mood all men are consumed by when hungry (10:31). The boys are then seen climbing into a small boat (12:30) and riding down a man-made dam (12:36). The film begins to wrap up with one boy riding a bike through a suburban area (12:53) and another building a kite (13:31). The film concludes shortly afterwards (14:05).
