The film also includes a brief parade with Edgar Bergman and Charlie McCarthy (1:20) on a float, Bob Burns in an open car (1:27), Betty Grable and Jackie Coogan (1:31), Shirley Temple (1:38). At 1:49, 1939 Rose Parade footage. The 1939 Tournament of Roses theme was Golden Jubilee to mark the 50th anniversary of the parade. Shirley Temple served as Grand Marshal (2:01). An older Temple is seen again at (2:19) in the company of stars such as Cary Grant (2:21), and at (2:29) Shirley Temple's wedding at age 17, to Army Air Force Sgt. John Agar, 24. Their marriage lasted only five years. At 2:41, footage of Temple on set celebrating her own birthday with husband John Agar, possibly on the set of Ft.
