The film compares air traffic control to the controller’s morning commute, by comparing the commands he gives to those that a car would face while driving on the road. The footage is mostly of the controller speaking over radio and aircraft taxiing and taking off. After this film debuted, Frank Boone went on to a long and successful career, eventually running the tower at the airport at El Paso, Texas. 0:08 McGraw-Hill Text Films, See a Job, 0:22 Overview on LAX airport terminal, 0:33 Air traffic controller Frank Boone speaking over radio and then speaking with his boss, 1:23 two Air Traffic Controllers talking to each other, 1:36 Air Traffic Controller watching a radar screen, 1:54 a B727 taxiing, 2:21 a B727 taking off, 2:40 Title “The Air Traffic Controller: Don’t Call Me, I’ll Call You”, 2:58 Boone getting into his car to drive to work, 3:18 Air Traffic Controller speaking over radio, 4:03 an American Airlines B707 taking off, 4:23 a United B727 taking off, 4:34 an American Airlines B707 taxiing, 4:46 a PSA B727 taxiing, 5:12 a line of planes waiting to line up for take off, 5:25 a TWA B707 lining up for take off, 5:58 rapid interjections of the controller, Boone's car in traffic, and aircraft on the apron, 7:18 a Pan Am B707 taking off, 7:41 long range air traffic control center, 7:54 a radar screen, 8:03 Produced by McGraw-Hill Films, 8:11 text about how Frank Boone was trained to have this job with him in the background Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed.
