Stapp was a career U.S. Air Force officer, USAF flight surgeon and pioneer in studying the effects of acceleration and deceleration forces on humans. He was a colleague and contemporary of Chuck Yeager, and became known as "the fastest man on earth". According to the book "A History of Murphy's Law" by Nick T. Spark, Stapp was also involved in the discovery of the famed Law during tests at Muroc AFB (today's Edwards). Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed.
