It starts with shots of rough casting of shrapnel. They are heated (:23), and then placed in a press for "nosing" or "bottling" at :39. At :51 rough ammunition is shown in stacks. At :56 slugs are stamped out, similar to bird shot. At 1:21 cases are filled and sealed. At 1:29 hot tar is added to bind the slugs and the nose assembled (1:41). At 1:51 various shell sizes and types are shown off. The cases are made from brass discs that are shaped on lathes (2:07). At 2:22 this process is demonstrated. At 2:54 the "jamming" ridge is placed on a shell to hold it in the bore of the gun. At 3:20, large caliber ammunition is shown. At 3:30 inspectors examine shells.
