It's not known when the film was shot but probably it dates to the 1970s; the location is also unknown but it might be Alaska. The mother bear appears to be wearing a tracking collar. In the late summer and fall, bears eat salmon from the large streams of Alaska. Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed.
