The test subject wears a spacesuit and attempts to maneuver through a simulated environment unassisted. At 3:46, the test subject performs a retrieval task, opening a container, removing items and placing them on the next "level" of the environment. The spacesuit shown in use might be a Gemini design. Tests such as these were critical in assessing the ability of astronauts to move in spacecraft (and later space stations) while in spacesuits. Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed.
